Walk 10,000 steps
I took 10,999 steps last Sunday. Probably a bit more, but I started walking all herky-jerky on my way into the condo to prevent the pedometer from reaching 11,000. I'm not quite sure why this seemed important.

Based on a close-up photo of a tiger lily I snapped recently.
It can sometimes be hard for me to get rid of things I used to enjoy, so I felt proud at the painlessness with which I was able to donate several CDs I listened to when I was 15 or so, before my classic rock phase took hold.
I made the gin-based Pegu Club cocktail, which I sipped while dressed in a house coat, sitting beside a cat, listening to The Drifters. Dear lord, what am I becoming?
Read a short story
There are a lot of things to like about George Saunders. His inventiveness. His beautiful use of language. But the thing I like the most is his heart; he weaves his compassion for fellow humans throughout his writings. I greatly enjoyed Bohemians, a character-driven short story of his originally published in The New Yorker.
